Advantages of using an Active Tag RFID System.
Most proprietary RFID systems currently available, including the leading competition, operate using standard passive RFID tags. Our new active tags offer the following advantages:
Active tags can have a range of up to 100 metres, removing the necessity of the handheld being in close proximity to the tag.
Passive tags have a very short range and the handheld needs to virtually touch the tag to read the information.
Retro fit the tags to existing equipment so integration of old and new is immediately available.
Tags can be written to, as well as read.
Information may be added at any time.
Existing information can be edited at any time.
Active tags are already pre-programmed to report the end of the life of the battery. (Normally battery life is 5 years plus).
Higher Data Transfer Rate (reading and writing operations can be performed in a shorter time).
Allows for scanning multiple tags in one single scan (up to 20,000 tags).
Allows identification of individual tags in a multi tag environment.
Visible identification of the tag is made simple by the use of LED technology.
